Know-vember – help us spread the word on RADON and help others KNOW about it.
Radon exposure is the LEADING CAUSE of lung cancer in non-smokers. There are more than 3,200 radon-related lung cancer deaths in Canada each year.
Radon is the silent killer. We want our audience to make some noise and get the word out, and spot the signs of where radon can be hiding in plain sight.

Let's Take Action on Radon Together!
To mark Radon Action Month this year, we challenge you to “Take Action” from October 15 to November 30 to share your knowledge about radon with someone else in your community and then let us know about it to enter to win prizes. It is simple, upload a photo and a short description to our online form for your chance to win weekly prizes.
Starting on November 9, we will do two weekly draws for a $50 gift card. Draws will be made randomly from the entries which have been submitted during each contest period, leading up to our Grand Prize draw on December 2. On December 2 we will draw for the final two gift cards of $50, (total of 8 - $50 gift cards in all) and another draw for an Artisan Mini Stand Mixer from KitchenAid and the Grand Prize draw includes a trip for two from Westjet.
*Contest is open to all residents of Canada over the age of majority, excluding employees, contractors and immediate family members of CARST, Canadian Cancer Society and Take Action on Radon. Chances of winning depends on the number of entries received before Contest closes.. Participants are limited to 20 entries. Winners will be notified by email and must complete winner release forms in order to win.

Participate by:
- Ordering a test kit from one of our listed Radon Test Kit providers, take a picture of ordering it and share it with us.
- Take a picture of yourself reading a radon article from the TAOR website and share it with us. Let us know which information was helpful!
- Take a picture of being on the phone or in person getting a mitigation quote to reduce the radon level in your home.
- Take a picture of yourself sharing Radon Information with your friends, family, and/or neighbours or writing an article for your community newsletter. Find samples here.
- Sharing posts, articles, infographics or a picture/selfie of your test kit or radon mitigation system on your social media profiles.
- Have someone take a picture of you doing a presentation for your local community or school group.
- Promoting radon testing in your town/city newsletter/info boards and tell us about it.
- Telling your colleagues about radon and showing them the TAOR website
